A better way of delivering home care.

Having witnessed less than great care for some of his elderly relatives, the founder of The Home Team, Peter Shaw was convinced that there was a better way.

Every client has a small team of carers, ensuring continuity of care for our clients and a strong team culture. We never rush our care, which is why our minimum length of visit is one hour.

Our essential training is done face-to-face, in-house and we encourage and support our team to take further nationally recognised qualifications.

Patience, kindness and reliability

Our founder, Peter Shaw, saw firsthand that the level of social care provided to his family was not up to par—with hurried visits and an ever-changing roster of staff lacking a caring touch. Determined in his belief that there is a better way, he found individuals who naturally embody qualities such as genuine compassion, empathy, trustworthiness, patience, kindness, and work ethic. These are the home care professionals we bring onboard, and it’s from this foundation of innate qualities that we can provide exceptional quality, commission-rated domiciliary care.

Consistency of care

Our teams are the beating heart of our service, providing dependable and consistent care at home to our clients. Care isn’t just a job for our Home Care Professionals; it’s a commitment to supporting our clients through the ups and downs of day to day living. Your ‘home team’—a select group of our carers—will become familiar faces, bringing continuity, personal care, and companionship right to your doorstep.

Time and space

To us, great care means never feeling rushed. It means creating moments that count during every visit. That’s why each appointment is scheduled for a minimum of one hour—providing the scope for comprehensive and considerate care that respects your pace and space. Our system ensures that our home care professionals have ample travel time so that every client visit is punctual and never cut short.

Your wider support team

Your wider support team might consist of family and friends, your GP, district nurses, a physiotherapist, your cleaner, perhaps a visiting podiatrist, hairdresser or an odd-job person. We recognise the importance of liaising with these services as part of your wider home care support team.
