Home care for Parkinson’s Patients.

Through the care of our clients, we understand some of the challenges of living with Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s Symptoms

As well as the main physical symptoms of tremor, slowness of movement and stiff muscleswe know that the disease can lead to balance problems, memory loss, loss of the sense of smell, problems with sleeping, depression and anxiety, hallucinations and delusions. The development of these neurological aspects of Parkinson’s can lead to a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease dementia.

Support for Parkinson’s

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, Parkinson’s disease is closely linked to dementia, with Lewy Bodies exhibiting very similar symptoms. As the disease develops, individuals will need support with personal care, meal preparation and serving and mobilisation as they lose the ability to walk and transfer by themselves.

Our professional carers are experienced in home care for Parkinson’s patients and trained in the particular aspects of dementia care, including the use of mobility aids.

Companionship for Parkinson’s

Companionship is an important aspect of home care for Parkinson’s patientsOne of our client’s ability to sing from memory stayed with her for a significant amount of time after she had lost many of her other physical and mental abilities, bringing joy to her, her husbandand our carers.
