Home care services for cancer patients

When we are unwell, we often struggle with day-to-day tasks. This is where The Home Team can step in.

We can support in many ways

Our professional carers are used to providing home care services for cancer patients and those who are on the road to recovery following cancer treatment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. This might include help with personal care, getting up in the morning, help with washing and dressing, help with specific care, such as bowel, stoma and catheter care and help with administering medicationOur clients might have reduced mobility and require help from our care team who are trained in using a range of mobility aids.

Day to day living

We can help prepare and serve mealsbreakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as drinks and snacks. We also help many of our clients with housework, running errands and simply offering companionship. Being unwell with cancer and recovery from it can feel lonely and it is important that those supporting our clients understand that.

Working alongside medical professionals

Our professional carers are trained to provide home care services for cancer patients and to be aware of our clients’ physical and mental vulnerabilities. They will raise any concerns with our office team, who are always at the end of the phone and are experienced in liaising with our client’s GP, hospital, andif necessary, emergency services, as well as other support services such as Macmillan Nurses.

According to the NHS, 1 in 2 of us will develop some form of cancer during our lifetimes, and there are more than 200 different types of cancer, each of which is diagnosed and treated in a particular way. At The Home Team, we understand this and the importance of keeping day-to-day life going as normally as possible.
